Everyone loves a Panera Bread sandwich, soup or salad every now and then! Panera Bread has been a leader in the fast casual dining category for quite some time. In 2010, they rolled out their loyalty application which also first introduced the concept of ordering on the app ahead of time and picking up food in store on the pickup shelf. Now fast forward to 2023 and they are incorporating drive-thru’s at many of their locations which include AI technology, and pre-ordering for pickup in the drive-thru lane.
The chain announced on March 31, 2023 that they were going to allow customers to order from their app or website for pickup in the drive-thru lanes. This will now make it even more convenient for guests who do not want to get out of their cars to pick up food from the shelf inside. When ordering on the app or website, customers will now have the option to select “Drive-thru Pickup.” When this is selected, they can drive past the menu and speaker box and head straight to the window. Their name will be announced through the speaker and when called, they can pull ahead. To celebrate the national launch, starting June 1 and running through June 30, MyPanera members ordering Drive-Thru Pick-Up will receive $5 off any order of $15 or more. This new option allows Panera to promote signups on the Panera app as well which already boasts 53 million members.
